The Little Red Hen Story
Our trademark "Little Red Hen" has been derived from the traditional
children's story. This story tells how an enterprising hen and her family
found some wheat seeds and enthusiastically went about the tasks of
planting and harvesting, preparing the flour, and finally baking the
bread. Despite her requests the other farm animals were unable to assist
in these tasks but were unsurprisingly available to partake in the consumption
of the bread.
Our
use of the name "Little Red Hen" has its origins in Paul's first attempt
at winemaking. Help was scarce during the wine making, but the sceptics
were always around to drink the wine.
These days the story is different. Many friends are only too keen
to help at harvesting, pruning and bottling, however they are still
all more than happy to drink the wine after the work has been done...
